Royal family mourn Prince Philip in funeral service at Windsor Castle. The funeral of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, took place on Saturday afternoon at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, London, United Kingdom.
The service, attended by 30 guests, was being conducted by the Dean of Windsor. Buckingham Palace announced that His Royal Highness passed away on April 9, 2021 at the age of 99.
The funeral was a family occasion which recognised His Royal Highness’s military associations and included some unique personal touches, in line with The Duke’s wishes.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Funeral took place at Windsor Castle
The Duke of Edinburgh didn’t want an elaborate state funeral. The coffin was covered with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Personal Standard. On top, his Sword, Naval Cap and a wreath of flowers. The wreath sitting on top of Prince Philip’s casket was from his wife, Queen Elizabeth II made out of white roses, jasmine and lilies.
